So, I saw the Vessel vessel film piece by Lucy Quinn at PICA today, and felt the need to post the film I made of something almost identical at uni last year (don't you hate that!!). It's really scrappy, I just did it one day and have never really used it... I was interested in translating my paintings into more time-based and ephemeral works. I still am, but have ended up making projections of paint swirling around in a shallow dish from above, so a different perspective to this side-on one.
i got a good but blurry series of shots of this too...

don't think twice it's alright
this song has been on high rotation lately
classic bob dylan... there are so many brilliant quips, and so much attitude, and heartbreak...
"I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul"
...
"You coulda done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time"
ah! bob! and in this video, his little spin at the end of the song!
that's it really.

space lusting, cloud busting
So, in view of the laneway project the Inter Collective is working on, I've been googling images and lusting after other abandoned spaces...
amazing studio space... Melbourne, of course
warehouse in Cork (Ireland!)
rooftop in Montreal, ah
under a bridge in Finland
stairwell in Shanghai
and... best till last: old Soviet underground submarine base in Balaklava, Russia
(it's a museum now, but still, imagine!)

it's been a good week, productive, and there are many wheels in motion!
